Happy Halloween!

Well, tonight is Halloween night! Although there were parties over the weekend, I’m going downtown with some friends in costume (I’m a vamp - even went for false eyelashes at the MAC counter today). I plan to mainly stay away from the booze and snacks, but will be drinking plenty of club soda and Sugar […]

Lipodissolve Disasters

Gun used for Lipodissolve.

Sufferers often purge, or make themselves sick, after eating small to normal amounts of food. That’s different from bulimia in that bulimics usual binge on hundreds to thousands of calories before purging. The sufferers are also of normal weight.

Oprah Gains Weight From Thyroid

Oprah recently announced on her talk show that she had been feeling tired and sluggish as a result of an underactive thyroid (she had also gained 20 pounds). Apparently she used to have hyperthyroidism, a condition where your metabolism, heart rate etc are extremely high, and then she “blew out” her thyroid and had the […]

Gary Taubes On Larry King Live

You might remember me mentioning the groundbreaking book Good Calories, Bad Calories by scientific journalist Gary Taubes. When I found out he was going to be on CNN’s Larry King Live last Friday, I knew I had to watch.
To make it as controversial as possible, there were several low-fat supporters on board. Dr. Oz, Oprah’s […]
