5 Diet and Fitness Goals for the Week

by meielisawy on February 10th, 2008

I’m making my list of goals for the week public to catapult myself into action. I think it’ll work well. . . but we’ll have to see if I can hit all five just right! I have faith in myself, but this should give me the right nudge to keep things rolling.

1. Bring my water bottle to the gym again. I’m always forgetting to do this and that. is. bad. The water bottle I have has a wide mouth and it’s just not working. Do you know those personal Brita filter ones? I need one like that again.

2. Mix in one “weird” vegetable. And by weird, I mean one that I should eat but that just doesn’t excite me. I think it’ll be kale. It’s super high in nutrients and can be blended into a variety of soups.

3. Get a pedometer. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what kind? I’d hate to buy one that I’m disappointed with, but I have a sneaking suspicion that I haven’t been taking enough steps and I need proof. Perhaps it’s time to extend my dog-walking time?

4. Start a “beginner” cardio workout to “retrain” my methods. Pounding the treadmill in vain is not working for me, and neither is fast-walkin. Instead, I’m going to try a 13 minute “Quickie” workout that I found over at About.com Exercise by Paige Waehner.

5. Head to the spa. A major must-do. There will be plucking, waxing, and facializing to put me in the mood to exercise more!

Great goals, Meieli. I like how you are making them week to week. I am setting some goals this week too.

It works so well to break things down into manageable chunks. That sounds SO high school, but you know what I mean.

Kale is actually yummy. I didn’t think I’d like it but I had some kale soup (it’s portuguese?) and omg. I heart kale!
