A New Dawn, A New Day
Having just completed my first week as a work at home mom, I have come to a couple of conclusions. I may well never eat a meal by myself again and trying to work while managing a toddler is EXHAUSTING. Besides all that, I’m loving it. My son wants whatever I have on my plate. Even if he has already eaten or if he has the exact same thing on his plate; he still wants mine. It’s cute and frustrating all at the same time. The good thing about it is, it’s motivation for me to watch what I am eating. Is it something I would want him to eat? If it isn’t, I had better not eat it when he’s around. Then the question is, if I wouldn’t want him to eat it why is it okay for me? Most of the time the answer is that it isn’t okay for me. Healthy quick snacks that are mommy and kid friendly is the key.
We picked up these great “handful of nuts and dried fruit” from Trader Joe’s. I love these because it’s already portioned out to the perfect serving size. Protein, antioxidants, etc. My son eats the dried cranberries and cherries and I eat the nuts. It’s a great quick on the go snack too that I can throw into my purse.
If I’m going to be running around town I need the right gear, don’t I? Why not maximize the opportunity to exercise. We can always walk to the store instead of driving. Or roll out the jogging stroller and go for a quick run to the post office. I am
in lust with Saucony’s Progrid 5 Trigon 5 Grid running shoe. I used to run track, back in the day, so I have tried a lot of performance shoe brands. Saucony, for me, always stands out. I must have them. I’m on my way to a new me. I just have a change a few diapers first, I’ll be right back.
