Aspartame - Never Fear, It’s Perfectly Safe
![]()
For those of you who diet, I’m sure it’s not uncommon to reach for a diet drink in between meals. After all, they’re delicious and bubbly, and they fill you up without any calories (can you tell I like them?) However, there are always certain naysayers who will “helpfully” remind you that the sweetener aspartame causes cancer.
Not so anymore. Apparently, a federal review on an Italian study on whether aspartame causes ill effects like cancer found no data to support this claim. The European FSA (Food Safety Agency) again stated that aspartame is completely safe (It was cleared in 1981 by the FDA).
I’ve personally suspected this to be the case all along. After all, it’s been sold for 25 years. Considering that 50 percent of us in the US drink diet soda, wouldn’t we be seeing massive amounts of people with cancer by now? Besides, come on, I’m on a diet! What do you expect me to drink - water? ;)
So, whether you’re enjoying sugar-free gum, diet soda or thousands of other products containing aspartame, rest assured that your health is not in danger.
Until next time -
Claire :)

Claire, You are doing a serious disservice to people who come to your site. Aspartame IS toxic, regardless of poorly done or corporate sponsored studies. Here is a study performed by a completely non-biased INDIVIDUAL. The results are not pretty: http://www.myaspartameexperiment.com/index.php
Continue to poison yourself if you wish, but don’t spread such irresponsible, horrible disinformation to others.
