Britney Photoshopped For Allure
The latest issue of Allure features Britney Spears on its cover and inside are photos of her that have clearly been Photoshopped - this one is my favorites:

As you can see, they’ve taken away her stomach fat and shrunk her arms and legs considerably. She did have a flat stomach after her second pregnancy due to a tummy tuck, but you can see the difference here:

I think the Photoshopping trend is getting out of hand and is promoting an unrealistic image. I worry about young girls reading Allure, seeing Britney and thinking she really looks like that and they should look like that too.
I respect Allure for not making her look super-thin, but it’s like they’re implying something’s wrong with you if you’re not a size 2.
What do you think? Does this look like the real Britney, or is it a long ways off?

Yup, that’s Britney. 5 years ago, Pre-Kevin, pre-kids pre-drugs, pre-alcohol, pre-depsression, pre-crazy paparazzis, pre-Britney turned skunk-whore-not getting a mother of the year award anytime soon. Yup.

Sure, this was all of us at 18!!! ;)
I don’t buy these magazines anymore. I will pick them up and flip through them at bookstores but I refuse to buy them when they are lying to young girls like my daughter.

i agree, that’s definitly the pre-popstar trailer trash britney. the affect is in the lighting and angle though. she throws her shoulders back to elongate her stomache and thin it out more. then the light is on her back just angled to show her side and shadows some pudge. i used to look at these photos and “think this is how i should look.” then i realised the truth about photo shopping and got real. the average American woman is 5′8″ and weighs 180 lbs.

Ali,
I applaud you for not buying these magazines. Wish I could do the same, but I love the clothes in them :)
Aimee,
It’s true that the average woman is much heavier - a size 12 to 14 on average. I agree that the lighting probably helped do the trick.

It IS out of control. They even photo shop each photo on America’s Next Top Model, and they tell you about it!

Every photo you see in a magazine is photoshopped to hell, every single one. I see the point you’re trying to make, I guess, but I’m not sure why Spears is any different from any other mag pic.
