Burning The Scale

Eating Healthy At The Beach

Well, I’m heading off to Wrightsville Beach, NC today for 5 days (I’ll continue to post while I’m there). Yesterday was full of packing and picking up last-minute items (like sunscreen!). Now I’m formulating a plan to not break my low-carb diet at the beach.
It will be tough, since the mainstays of Wrightsville Beach include hot dogs, pizza, and fried fish - not to mention the ice cream! However, there are dishes like lobster and crab legs that are mostly protein and fairly low in calories (and carbs). Of course I’ll be eating the butter too ;)
We will be walking a lot - my fiance has insisted that we do as little driving as possible (fair, since it’s his car). It’s about a mile from our suite on the beach to the shops and restaurants, so hopefully I’ll burn off some calories. Swimming and walking on the sand are great ways to do that!
Now if I could only get over thinking that lobsters and crabs look like giant bugs…
