In the Let’s All Have Sex … and Not for the Reasons You’re Thinking of article, it said, Sex is Awesome and listed reasons why. Reasons like, Physical Health, Mental Health, Aesthetics, and Reproductive Health. Of course what caught my attention was the bit about how sex improves someone’s fitness levels wherein it said having sex, will potentially help you lose weight. Really? ;)

Thirty minutes of sex can burn approximately 150 calories. A person who has sex three times a week for a year can potentially lose about five pounds a year due to sex alone. Sex also stretches and tones muscles, which can lead to a higher level of fitness and a better posture. Muscular contractions during intercourse work the pelvis, thighs, buttocks, arms, neck and thorax. Sex also boosts production of testosterone, which leads to stronger bones and muscles.
