Burning The Scale

Las Vegas Tourists Too Lazy To Walk

by Claire on May 24th, 2007

You’ve probably seen the motorized wheelchairs available in grocery stores for the elderly or those with disabilities. I believe they also have them at malls and airports. Now they are being rented out in Las Vegas hotels to some able-bodied tourists as well.
Finding the Sin City strip too exhausting to walk along, more and more hotel customers are turning to these wheelchairs as a way to get around without having to worry about comfortable shoes or the dangers of drinking and driving.
I understand that the Las Vegas strip has expanded, but is there really any excuse to use resources provided for the handicapped - simply because you don’t feel like walking?
Besides, just think - by the time you got done walking all day, you’d have burned enough calories to eat at the buffets ;)
