The Leptin Diet - Don’t Buy The Hype

I was looking at articles on Science Daily when I came across an ad for the Leptin Diet. Leptin is a hormone that triggers satiety - lets us know when to stop eating. Intrigued, I clicked on it.
Unfortunately, it’s not so much based on a “diet” as it is on a myriad of supplements - including “Leptislim,” “Leptinal,” and “Thyroid Helper.” However the website proclaims that it’s a “natural” diet that will help regulate your metabolism and hunger. Want to know what’s even more natural? Real food!
For $123.67 (on sale!) you get a book entitled “Leptin: How Fit is Your Fat?,” several bottles of pills, and an “author discussion” audio CD.
Sure, some supplements can aid in losing weight, but what’s most important is a proper diet and exercise. Beware of weight loss supplements with ingredients you don’t recognize and “proprietary blends” - they don’t actually tell you what is in them.
I give this diet two thumbs down!

I don’t care for his supplement system, but if you read the ENTIRE book by this author, Mastering Leptin, you will see that this non-diet can be life-saving and ground-breaking, WITHOUT any supplements at all. I am proof. Not only am I losing 1 to 1.5 pounds per day, I have never felt better. I am able to walk some, and cut back my pain meds to 1/3rd the dosage prescribed. Without a single supplement. Just following the 5 Rules and dietary guidelines.
His larger book, Mastering Leptin, doesn’t push his supplement business as much as the smaller book might. But his supplements are good ones, although way over priced, if oine were inclined to take them.
But the point is the massive research, including 847 referenced footnotes of bona fide published scientific studies, that back up his “diet”.
I truly believe his book, Mastering Leptin, is the key for which I have been searching for years, and that I will be able to heal my health issues completely, including fat loss.
I think you took one look at the supplements and pronounced judgement too quickly.
